Yes, it does say 2007 but it's still relevant and very useful background info on OpenID. Considering the mass adoption of social networks, user identity and authentication has become a massive subject underlying all data mashing. Google has adopted this within OpenSocial and we're seeing usage within Facebook Connect...and we're also seeing broad website standardization/utilization of it - check out Yahoo!'sCorporate Board Members of the foundation;
